Interactive permaculture principles workshop

Finca Encuentros first real permaculture workshop hosted by Patrick permaculture coach & teacher in the making. In this first workshop we covered the permaculture ethics and principles. Our workshops are designed to be as interactive as possible which means that our participants are as much involved as they can be. We reasoned the principals together and brainstormed on our recycled chalkboard. After the first brainstorming and theoretical part we endeavoured through our finca applying the first principle of “observe & interact” to try to find examples of the implementation of the other principals. To finish up and chit chat what had been learned we closed the workshop with a lemongrass Tee from our finca.

Taller de Bokashi -liquid fertilizer

Taller de Bokashi – fertilizante liquido – Bokashi is a liquid fertilizer that can be done super easy by everyone looking to give an ecological but strong boost of nutrients to your plants. Bokashi is Japanese and means “fermented organic matter.” Developed in the early 1980s by Dr. Teuro Higa, a professor at the University of the Ryukyus, Okinawa, Japan, the method uses kitchen scraps in layers (vegetables and fruits, as well as meat and dairy scraps) enabling the reduction of your biological waste to a minimum. At Finca Encuentro we showed how to do a simple version with just a few ingredients that could be purchased in your local supermarket.
